Suffixes
These are the notes that I compiled from
HBEL1203 Language Description and I added
the details wherever I thought necessary.
I organised them in a way that I believed help them to remember the points
easily. They had to take the exams 2
times in a semester. The examination
board set the questions and the papers were also marked by them.
This is an interesting subject that I really
enjoyed teaching. The first subject
that I taught there was English for Written Communication. I taught
this subject so many semesters and I got so bored that I asked for English for
Phonetics and Phonology and Language Description boldly. The Administrator there did not give me
until I refused the offer of English for Written Communication. Luckily, that Administrator was kind enough to try me
out for the subjects I asked for.
Be frank. I had little problem
with the textbooks but I had some
initial hiccups
for assignment questions at first. Fortunately, they had the forums and other
interactions to get help, too.
Other subjects that I taught there were:
1.
HBEL3203
Teaching of Grammar
2.
HBET1403
Sociolinguistics in Language Teaching
3.
HDEL1103 /HBEL1103 Introduction to English Teaching
4.
HBET1503
Principles and Practice of English Methodology
5.
HBET1303
Psycholinguistics in Language Teaching
6.
-----------Teaching
of Listening and Speaking in ESL
Yes, these subjects provide the additional knowledge for me, too. It was like revising what I learnt about 20
years ago. But if you teach the
subjects all the time, it can be boring. En…….. I would be bored to death.
