Clauses
A clause consists of a subject and a verb.

A) In a finite clause
A main / independent clause may have one /
more dependent clauses.
Main clause = independent
clause
Subordinate clause =
dependent clause
Dependent clauses
= a noun clause
= a relative/ adjectival clause
= an adverb clause
